Volga River State Recreation Area in Fayette, Iowa is located in one of the most scenic parts of the state. Many people call this area "Little Switzerland" because of its geologic features and rugged terrain-- this is unique to most of the state's rolling hills and farmland. Wildlife observation is an excellent pastime at this park because of its natural perfect habit for a variety of animals including red fox, raccoons, skunks, possums, mink and beavers among many others.
